Star-Gazette: A fine line between fair and foul

This has got to be an awkward spot for an editor. At what point exactly do you say enough is enough? How do you determine if the letter your reading is a regular reader or part of an organized effort from a campaign? What if it is from a memeber of a campaign, are they not allowed to voice their opinion? I do not envy Mr. Kubissa in this duty. It makes sence that when a canidate does something, say Kuhl going to Iraq, that people on both sides are going to come out with many letters and as we near the election this will probably increase. Like Mr. Kubissa said there are many people who will write letters at election time that wouldn’t write letters the rest of the year. But when it is an organized campaign to flood the editor with letters for your campaign which are nearly carbon copies of each other then it is dishonest and I support them cutting it off.
